As an independent study at Plattsburgh State University (advised by Dr. Danielle Garneau), I monitored and maintained 21 wood duck boxes and 6 American kestrel boxes at Lake Alice Wildlife Management area to estimate occupancy rates. These boxes were located using a handhelp GPS, observed with a GoPro peeper cam bluetoothed to a smartphone and mapped with ArcMap GIS. Some boxes were relocated with a NYS wildlife biologist to improve occupancy rates.

As a field technician and assistant research technician with Lake Champlain Research Institute since 2015 (supervised by Dr. Tim Mihuc), I collected zooplankton and water quality samples using numerous sampling techniques. After collection, I assisted in analyzing the samples in the lab and observing the effects of spiny water flea on the Lake Champlain zooplankton community. I was also responsible for taking crews out to monitor water quality in surrounding tributaries and taking collected samples to appropriate agencies, and backpack electro-fishing to assess fish populations in local streams. I also assembled a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to perform underwater exploration.
